TOPICS FOR DEBATE
|
1.
Slavery is a necessary evil that allows for
survival in parts of the world where unemployment is rampant and poverty is
oppressive. It has a proven track
record dating back thousands of years and we should not tamper with it. 2.
The major cause of modern-day slavery is greediness
on the part of the victims who willingly submit themselves and on the part of
the parents/family, friends and relatives who hand over the victims to the
traffickers. 3.
Decriminalization of prostitution would result in a decrease in the
trafficking of women and children for purposes of sexual exploitation. 4.
Women and children who work as prostitutes have not voluntarily chosen
such a life for themselves.
Prostitution and related activities fuel the growth of trafficking by
providing a façade behind which criminals can exploit the vulnerable. 5.
Human trafficking is essential to the stability of
the underground economy of many a poor nation. case study Nigeria |
